RE: ATI Super Damper
Is it a strokers crank or a factory 6.4 crank and did you order the balancer for a 6.1 or 6.4?

RE: ATI Super Damper
Sounds like he has the 6.1 balancer on a stock 392 crank. Ummm don't think thats gonna work.

RE: ATI Super Damper
I think it's the other way around. The 6.1 hub is longer than the 6.4. The 6.4 hub on a 6.1 base crank would set in too deep.

RE: ATI Super Damper
Not going on far enough was the opposite of my install. Was quite fun getting it started then all the way on. Sounds like wrong hub for the crank.

I went and bought the factory tool but I do a lot of these. I also use a 1"×3" flap wheel to clean the inside of the hub out. Once all the black oxide is removed athey go on easy. A little antisieze for lube and they slide right on with the tool.

RE: ATI Super Damper
I guess I could try the overdrive pulley, but we really didn't get any more out of the Edelbrock with the smallest pulley so no sense in tearing all the other stuff up for minimal, if any gain. My rings were is such bad shape, I will be curious how much power we were down anyway.

So any updates on the motor chuck ? Is it going to be able to just be honed & re-ringed ?

I bet you would pick up 3psi boost with the 17% OD balancer, may want to consider it.

RE: ATI Super Damper
You may find that some japbikes use 14mm axle bolts, if you have a cycle junkyard nearby. Did ya see that the some Hellcats have been spinning the balancer & wiping out the crank snout... I read that they have no keyway, use diamond dust for 'traction'. People are pinning their balancers now. Strange that the Hellcat balancer wouldn't be keyed...
