RE: recent finds
So Phil....do you leave the surface rust on it or refurbish back to lick new condition?

Is there a leather or cloth strap on the inside to hold it on the head?

I never do anything other than clean items. No there's no helmet liner in it. They are usually the first to go being made of leather, ones with them bring a huge premium.

Nice find Phil...

I have a International Harvester M1 I bought many years ago at a gun show for about $500. I picked up the M1 bayonet for like $15 when I bought the M1. I wonder what the dang thing is worth. I also bought a ammo box of Lake City 06 ammo. They are still in the bandoleers.

The rifles haven't gone up much over the years, they have always been over priced. But bayonets are over 100.00 now and ammo belts and such have gotten high too.

Saw a couple on Gun Broker for $2,700 and $2,800. Are they smoking something?

Yes they are, lots of idiots list stuff. 5-900 is normal. When they release the 5000 garrands from Korea the market will be flooded. If you found one totally matching you might see 2-3000 but those are unicorns
